Abdullah Alblooshi is one of three founders of Desert Shield Fitness, the UAE’s first Spartan-style gym devoted to training people to run obstacle races. He tells The Livehealthy.ae Podcast how he never really wanted to open a gym, about building a community around a love for fitness, and about the one time he was forced to live the adage “try, try and try again” with a very heavy bucket of sand – or be disqualified from a race he’d travelled across the world for.
